Berlin Designers Showcase Resourceful Innovations at Find Attached Exhibition

The inaugural Find Attached exhibition in Berlin features 14 emerging designers presenting products that emphasize resourcefulness and sustainability, often utilizing limited materials and energy.

Founded by Jonas Paul Spieker, Mia Pahl, and Jul Gross, the exhibition aims to provide a platform for local Berlin designers who are often overlooked in international design events. The show, held during the new Currents festival, highlights projects that explore how design can address societal changes and planetary resource limitations.

Among the innovations is a natural air conditioner by Garance Pröbsting, which uses a moistened textile divider to cool air without electricity. Mia Pahl's wash station conserves water by requiring users to manually fill a reservoir for sponge baths, significantly reducing water consumption compared to traditional showers.

Vloow Design Lab presented a fold-away sink made from scrap truck tarp, designed for small spaces. Marie Kurstjens created a reusable menstrual kit for displaced individuals lacking access to hygiene products.

Jonas Paul Spieker's "ImPerfekt" furniture series intentionally omits the final finishing step in CNC milling, questioning material wastage and energy consumption in furniture production by highlighting the 'imperfect' edges.

Esmée Willemsen showcased a customizable coffin made from a 3D-printed wood alternative derived from sawdust, while Julia Huhnholz used the same material for a modular shelving system.

Paul Rees offered satirical products for a warming world, including an ice cube scarf. Other featured works include waterlogged MDF furniture by Emil Löber and Daniel Sauter, and a satirical AI surveillance system by Lukas Henneberger.
