Affordable Two-Component H-Shifter for Racing Sims
A new H-shifter design for racing simulators utilizes only two core electronic components, significantly reducing cost and complexity.

The shifter's electronics consist of a joystick, similar to those in game controllers, and an Arduino Pro Micro. These are connected with a simple wiring setup.
A 3D printed case and shift knob provide the H-pattern functionality. The design demonstrates how readily available components and a 3D printer can create an affordable sim racing accessory.
The project uses existing firmware, which offers various configuration options for different shifter setups. This prototype highlights the potential for low-cost customization in sim rigs.
While this design uses a 3D printer, other affordable sim setups exist, such as a three-pedal system built with an extruded aluminum frame, showing alternative approaches to cost reduction.
