Tiny Cyberdeck Built into Altoids Tin

A custom cyberdeck, dubbed the TN Deck, has been built into an Altoids tin, featuring a screen, keyboard, power supply, and speaker.

The device is powered by a Raspberry Pi Compute Module Zero, a compact version of the Pi Zero W. The custom PCB integrates power management, sound, and a QMK-powered keyboard.

The keyboard is primarily 3D printed, using dome tactile switches with a flexible TPU membrane and 3D-printed keycaps. Markings were applied using a desktop IR laser marking machine.

While the keyboard has limited key travel and ergonomics, its small size and economical design are key features. A printed drill guide was used for precise hole placement in the tin for components like the audio jack.

This project is described as being built for the love of the craft, rather than for specific functional needs.
