Balaji Ingole: AI Innovator in E-Commerce and Healthcare

Balaji Ingole, an IEEE Senior Member and project manager at Amla Commerce, is developing AI tools to streamline e-commerce operations and advance healthcare diagnostics. His work focuses on practical applications, leveraging AI to solve complex problems in both business and medicine.

Growing up in a small Indian village, Ingole's early exposure to technology, particularly a computer lab in middle school, sparked a lifelong passion for programming and problem-solving. This fascination led him to self-teach various technical skills, laying the foundation for his future career.

Currently, Ingole leads AI-driven digital transformation initiatives at Amla Commerce, a B2B e-commerce company. He is developing AI-enabled chatbots to automate the tedious and time-consuming process of setting up product catalogs on e-commerce platforms, aiming to reduce setup time from months to weeks. He also utilizes AI agents for his own tasks, such as generating status reports, freeing up time for more strategic work.

Beyond his professional role, Ingole is an active independent researcher. His weekend projects include creating AI-enabled diagnostic tools for healthcare and assistive technologies for individuals with physical disabilities. He believes in a 'learn by doing' approach, constantly prototyping and testing his ideas.

Ingole's journey includes a significant experience during his undergraduate studies where he pursued an interview with Indian entrepreneurs N.R. Narayana Murthy and Sudha Murty.
