Europe's First Orbital Launch from European Soil

Isar Aerospace has made history by launching Europe's first orbital rocket from European soil in 2026. The German company's Spectrum rocket successfully deployed CubeSat payloads into orbit from Andøya Space in Norway.

The five satellites launched were part of Germany's Microlauncher Competition, providing opportunities for startups and educational institutions. While the press release did not name them, a list from Wikipedia includes TriSat-S, FramSat-1, Sat1, CyBEEsat, Platform 6, and the Let It Go experiment.

Isar Aerospace is also developing a space launch facility in Nova Scotia, Canada. This facility aims to provide access to lower inclination orbits and establish a Canadian launch capability. The company has previously been noted for its work on spaceport development.
