Studiomateriality Designs Lucha Libre-Inspired Bar in Athens
Studiomateriality designed OchoTac, a Mexican-inspired bar in Athens, merging architecture and branding. The concept centers on the number eight, featuring eight tacos and a drinks menu.

The design translates Mexican wrestling (lucha libre) into a contemporary spatial and graphic identity. A graphic system uses eight wrestling movements and eight masks, referencing the eight tacos.
The material palette is industrial: concrete, stainless steel, white and green tiles. Green lighting creates a theatrical atmosphere, enhancing the lucha libre theme.
The design uses abstraction and contrast, balancing cool stainless steel and white surfaces with saturated green and tactile concrete.
The basement bathroom area is a distinct feature, designed as an independent space with white finishes and a mirrored ceiling.
Stainless steel doors resemble refrigeration units. Inside, green tiles and stainless steel shelves with meat sculptures mimic a butcher's refrigerator.
OchoTac functions as a continuous identity system where architecture and branding are inseparable. Every element contributes to a unified narrative focused on atmosphere and identity.
