Steel Architectural Awards ASEAN 2026 Finalists Announced

The Steel Architectural Awards ASEAN 2026, presented by BlueScope, has revealed 12 finalist projects from Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam. These projects will advance to the regional evaluation stage.

The awards, themed "Shaping Resilient Futures: Timeless Design with Coated Steel," recognize excellence in design, innovation, sustainability, and the use of coated steel solutions. The program aims to enhance steel architecture quality in Southeast Asia and foster professional exchange.

Finalists were selected across Commercial, Industrial, and Residential categories, along with an Institutional, Public & Others category. Notable projects include the Jakarta Premium Outlet, TUAH 1895, KiN, Can Gio Pavilions, Euroasiatic Head Quarter, Nova Organic Office and Warehouse, Pandora Crafting Facility, IC House, Baan Maiyalap, Desa Binaan Tampelas, Pusat Rehabilitasi Perkeso Sultan Nazrin Shah, and Chiang Mai University Main Stadium.

The ASEAN appraisal process in October 2026 will involve project representatives presenting to an international judging panel. Key assessment criteria include Design Excellence, Innovation, and Sustainability, with a focus on coated steel's contribution to architectural quality, durability, and climate responsiveness.

The judging panel comprises distinguished architects and industry leaders from Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Winners will be announced at the Steel Architectural Awards ASEAN 2026 Ceremony in Bangkok on November 20, 2026. A special program will also celebrate the 60th Anniversary of COLORBOND® steel.

Beyond the competition, the awards facilitate idea exchange and professional networking. Each ASEAN category winner will receive a one-week Learning and Sharing Trip to Australia to engage with leading architects and industry experts.
