ESP32 Powers Standalone DJ System

A new DJ system, named Pajoniiir, has been developed to replace a laptop in a DJ booth, utilizing an ESP32 microcontroller.

The system uses an ESP32-P4 microcontroller connected to a 4.3-inch touchscreen. The ESP32's USB ports are linked to a Pioneer DDJ-FLX4 controller and a USB stick containing a Rekordbox music library.

An audio output is provided via a PCM5102A DAC module. The ESP32 handles track playback in MP3, WAV, and FLAC formats, processes commands from the DJ controller, and displays waveforms and controls on the touchscreen.

This setup aims to replicate laptop functionality at a lower cost and with increased reliability, avoiding potential issues like operating system updates interrupting performances.
