Spitfire Roastery / Nota Architects

Spitfire Roastery, a coffee roasting factory in Liyang, Jiangsu, China, has been designed to serve as a lifestyle destination, responding to a trend of young people moving to the countryside and establishing urban-style businesses. The project reimagines the factory as a space that integrates production, consumption, leisure, social interaction, and public activities.

The architects, Nota Architects, designed the project with an area of 863 m² and a completion year of 2026. Key collaborators include lead architect Qian Shiyun, photographers Shan Liang and Shiyun Qian, and manufacturers such as Avarte, BURGEREE Acoustic Panels, Gabriel Upholstery Fabric, HAY, Huili Polycarbonate Sheet, Ikea, and SVEZA Plywood. The design team also included Zhou Jiachen, Gao Xiang, Duan Yanran, and interns Yao Xinyi, William Sivali Liongso, and Ling Olivia Li. Specialized consultants were involved in architecture construction drawings, structural, lighting, and facade design. The project is categorized under Cabins & Lodges and Retail.
