AliasVault 0.30.5 brings stability improvements and new features

AliasVault, a Dutch open-source password and email alias manager, has released version 0.30.5. The software, which prioritizes privacy and offers end-to-end encryption, was developed by Leendert de Borst.

This update focuses on stability, usability, and quality improvements, based on community feedback. Adjustments have been made to passkey creation, autofill detection in the browser extension, email management, import functions, and the display of favicons. The changes have been implemented in both the server and client applications.

New features include an updated logo in the web app's registration wizard, an improved CSV import template with an optional folder column, and the ability to delete emails in bulk. Usernames and/or emails are also shown when creating passkeys to identify existing items. The reliability of the FaviconExtractor has been improved, as has the detection of 2FA fields in the browser extension. Furthermore, custom field types can now be viewed and edited after creation.

Important bug fixes include making site suggestions in the browser extension consistent with search results, resolving issues with password importers that did not always correctly detect names (such as with RoboForm), and preventing the retrieval of favicons for non-website URL prefixes like 'androidapp://'.
