Silora task chair by ITO Design for Narbutas

ITO Design has created the Silora task chair for Narbutas, prioritizing function to inform its sculptural aesthetic and ergonomic features.

The chair features a distinctive backrest with two 'petals' that wrap around, continuing the organic curve of the seating and providing adaptive dual lumbar support. This design aims to blend aesthetics with ergonomics, responding to a trend for cozier, less formal workspaces.

According to ITO Design, the asymmetric lumbar support frame is the foundation of the chair's unique form. The mesh is wrapped around this structure, concealing technical elements while creating a visually interesting and refined 3D backrest.

Beyond the height-adjustable lumbar support, the Silora chair includes a synchronous mechanism with five locking positions for the seat and backrest, a forward tilt for active sitting, and adjustable armrests (2D or 3D).

The seat and backrest can be upholstered in various fabrics, including Narbutas' new 3D Rhythm mesh, which offers a soft, textured finish in a palette of darker colors.
