Katie Brockman won the overall prize for "Loved and Hated," a portrait of a pitbull named Caldwell, aiming to challenge negative breed stereotypes. The image features Caldwell with symbolic newspaper headlines and a human hand, representing the conflict between breed restrictions and advocacy.
The action category winner is "Ori the Australian Shepherd," capturing the dog mid-air during a frisbee competition, photographed by Nika Kuplenk Golobič.
Sarah Ebner's "Close," a self-portrait with her dog Koda, won the dogs-and-people category. The image reflects on the absence of Ebner's late dog, Faye.
Elena Marchi's "Beyond the Track" won the outdoor portrait category, featuring a Spanish greyhound in London, highlighting the dog's form against the city's architecture.
Zhang Tianhang's "Waiting" took first prize in the documentary category, focusing on the conditions and emotions within global dog shelters.
Marchi also won for "Run," depicting two greyhounds in a composition that suggests a silent conversation about their exploitation in racing and hunting.
