3D-Printed Student Village Completed in Denmark
A 36-unit student housing development, Skovsporet, has been completed in Holstebro, Denmark, utilizing large-scale 3D concrete printing. Designed by SAGA Space Architects and built by 3DCP Group, the project integrates printed structural elements with conventional construction methods.

The low-rise village consists of 36 ground-level apartments across six clusters, covering 1,650 square meters. It was developed for NordVestBO and is set to house its first students soon. The design emphasizes shared outdoor spaces, courtyards, and gardens, with bicycle parking integrated into the site. Approximately 90 percent of existing trees were retained during construction.
Concrete elements were produced on-site using a lower-carbon cement. The construction involved repeating the printing system across clusters and coordinating with conventional building components. 3DCP Group focused on consistency, accuracy, speed, and integration with other building systems for this residential scale project.
The development also features cement-free 3D-printed elements, showcasing multiple approaches to 3D-printed construction. Skovsporet was delivered within the regulatory and financial framework for subsidized housing in Denmark, functioning as a practical residential project rather than an experiment.
