Rural and Future Programme Announced

An architectural research project focusing on rural areas in Türkiye will be presented through a public program in Istanbul and Ankara this autumn.

The 'Rural and Future: Voices from Beyond the City | Alternative Ways of Living and Architectures' studio, conducted at Istanbul Technical University between 2020 and 2024, explored eight rural geographies across Türkiye.

The upcoming public program includes an exhibition, an international symposium, and a national forum.

The exhibition will showcase projects, drawings, mappings, moving images, and narratives from studies in Şile, Bandırma, the Menderes Basin, the Harran Plain, the Çoruh Basin, the Taurus Mountains, the Upper Euphrates Basin, and the Lake Van Basin.

These works aim to highlight the specific spatial, ecological, cultural, and temporal conditions of these rural areas and foster broader public discussion.
