Skywalker Grill at Lucas Museum Features Biomorphic Design

The newly opened Skywalker Grill at the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art in Los Angeles eschews 90-degree angles, echoing the building's biomorphic architecture and referencing the warm interiors of George Lucas's Skywalker Ranch.

Designed by Rockwell Group, the restaurant and bar features curved walls clad in unique cherry wood panels and columns that branch like trees. The design avoids any straight lines, creating a fluid and organic space.

The eatery's materials and design elements, including shimmering tiles on the bar and illuminated Corian, aim to incorporate cinematic storytelling. Booths are formed by swooping partitions, creating intimate dining areas.

The restaurant, named after Star Wars' principal character, is located on the museum's fifth floor and is open to the public. It offers panoramic views of the Los Angeles skyline from a terrace accessible through a large ovoid window.

The menu features American-style dishes with California-grown ingredients, some sourced from Skywalker Ranch. The Lucas Museum itself is dedicated to storytelling and features galleries, theaters, and educational spaces.
