360-meter hotel connected by raised walkway

A hotel in Jiashan, China, designed by HB Architects and Nature Times Art, features a 360-meter-long raised walkway connecting its various buildings.

The hotel, Dayun Landison Manor, is situated on a long, narrow site and designed to evoke a village-like atmosphere. The walkway is elevated 4.9 meters above the ground, with the guest rooms housed in blocks above it.

The design references local housing supported on stilts, with the supporting columns hidden to emphasize the horizontal structure. The walkway itself is 1.1 meters thick.

Guests enter through a courtyard with a central lake and a water curtain, then ascend to the raised walkway that leads to rooms, courtyards, and gardens. A pool is located at one end of the walkway.

Functional spaces are located below the walkway. The upper guest room blocks are painted earthy yellow, while the lower areas and walkway are terracotta red, reflecting the surrounding landscape and the design's focus on nature.

The architects stated they deliberately avoided white buildings to align with their design philosophy of using colors that relate to 'earth' and 'nature'.
