Qing Shui Meditation Retreat Center / RESP Studio

A project to renovate a decommissioned bus station into a meditation retreat center, located within the scenic area of the Qingshuiyan Ancestral Hall in Anxi, China. The design aims to harmonize with the natural and historical context of the site.

The site features an ancient banyan tree, a two-story station building, rock formations, and mossy paths. The Qingshuiyan Ancestral Hall, established in the Northern Song Dynasty, is a significant religious center for over 100 million believers across Fujian, Taiwan, and Southeast Asia.

The renovation integrates facilities such as tea houses, vegetarian restaurants, and rest areas to complement the ancestral hall.
