Artist Simon Laveuve Creates Miniature Post-Apocalyptic Dwellings on Rocks

Artist Simon Laveuve crafts 1/35-scale miniature dwellings perched precariously atop rocks and stilts, depicting a post-apocalyptic theme.

These detailed scenes feature everyday essentials like tiny chairs and fishing gear, alongside repurposed found objects, suggesting the presence of inhabitants without showing them directly.

The artist's upcoming solo exhibition, "Ancré dans la roche" (Anchored in Rock), in Paris will showcase these works.

The exhibition's title reflects Laveuve's recurring theme of dwellings in unusual and unstable locations, symbolizing resourcefulness amid contemporary challenges.

Laveuve states his work addresses the fundamental need to find an "anchorage" and build a life from that point.

The exhibition opens on November 12 and runs through December 22 at Loo & Lou Gallery, with a concurrent showing at Luxembourg Art Week from November 20 to 22.
