Pli Office Explores Chaos at Paris Design Week 2026

The exhibition 'TOUT EST CHAOS,' presented by Pli Office for Paris Design Week 2026, challenges the traditional role of design in an over-saturated world. It shifts the focus from problem-solving to provocation, questioning how designers create amidst excess.

Historically, design aimed to solve problems through mass production. However, in a world saturated with goods, the exhibition posits that the key question is no longer what design can solve, but what it can provoke, such as desire, emotion, and curiosity.

Pli Office, acting as spatial designers and creative directors, uses the exhibition's architecture to critique the current state of design. They believe a designer's role is to connect objects, narratives, disciplines, and generations, offering a space for doubt beyond profitability.

The scenography features exposed structural elements and raw industrial materials, with two large metal spines organizing the space. This modular assembly is designed for reusability and functions as architecture, display infrastructure, and a design object itself.

Softening the industrial framework, heart-shaped forms guide visitors and create display moments. The exhibition includes works from 11 invited studios and 64 designers selected through an open call, allowing prototypes and installations to interact freely.

Pli Office also debuts its first film, 'TOUT EST CHAOS,' in the venue's 360 Room. This cinematic reflection offers a break from the physical objects, shifting the experience from material accumulation to contemplation.
