Onodatesho Pavilion for Japan's National Tree Planting Festival
A temporary ceremonial pavilion, the Onodatesho, is commissioned annually for Japan's National Tree-Planting Festival, an event focused on forest preservation.

Designed by Yano Aoyama Architecture Design, the pavilion will have an area of 80 m² and is scheduled for completion in 2026.
The Onodatesho pavilion serves as the centerpiece for the festival, which has been held every year since 1950.
The event is a significant ode to forest preservation, though it receives little publicity outside of Japan.
The pavilion is traditionally dismantled shortly after the festivities conclude.
