Office 101 Casa Andina Renovation

A coworking space for architecture firms has been created in Medellín, Colombia, by rehabilitating a former garage within a traditional residential building.

The project, completed in 2025 by Caliza Arquitectura, is located in the Laureles neighborhood. It transforms a storage area into a creative workspace, focusing on adaptive reuse rather than a complete overhaul.

The intervention respects the existing structure, which was originally a representative example of the area's traditional residential architecture. The building has previously been adapted for uses such as a printing press.

The workspace now serves architecture firms, with the design aiming to preserve the memory of the original space.

Key contributors include Lead Architect Mariana Vélez, photographers Sitio Estudio and Mariana Vélez, gardens by José Puentes, construction by Sebastián Valencia, and carpentry by Árbol de hierro and Fredy Vanegas.
