Nuclear Rocket Design Emerges from a Napkin Sketch

A concept for a bimodal nuclear engine that could significantly reduce travel time to Mars was sketched out on a napkin by NASA engineer Kurt Polzin and General Atomics engineer Robert Schleicher.
