Croatia Joins Artemis Accords

The Republic of Croatia has become the 74th nation to sign the Artemis Accords, a set of principles for peaceful space exploration.

During a ceremony in Zagreb, Croatia's Minister of Science, Education, and Youth, Radovan Fuchs, signed the agreement with U.S. officials present. Minister Fuchs stated that joining the Accords will foster the development of Croatia's scientific community, introduce new technologies, and strengthen the economy, noting growing interest in the space industry.

Croatia recently launched its first satellite, CroCube, on December 21, 2024, aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket, demonstrating its increasing technological capabilities.

Established in 2020 by NASA and seven other founding nations, the Artemis Accords aim to promote transparency, safety, and coordination in space exploration.

The Accords commit signatory nations to explore peacefully, render aid, enable access to scientific data, avoid interference with others' activities, and preserve historically significant sites.
