Djibouti to Sign Artemis Accords

The Republic of Djibouti will become the 72nd nation to sign the Artemis Accords during a ceremony at NASA Headquarters on September 14th.

NASA Deputy Administrator Matt Anderson will host Djibouti's Ambassador to the U.S., Mohamed Siad Douale, and U.S. State Department Assistant Secretary for African Affairs Frank Garcia for the signing.

The Artemis Accords, established in 2020 by the U.S. and seven other founding nations, provide principles for safe, transparent, and coordinated civil space exploration.

The accords address the increasing interest in lunar activities from both governmental and private entities.

This event is in-person only, and media must RSVP by 8 a.m. on September 14th to hq-media@mail.nasa.gov.
