NASA Ames Recognizes Stars of the Month

NASA's Ames Research Center has honored seven individuals for their significant contributions across various scientific divisions. These awards highlight dedication, technical expertise, and collaborative efforts supporting NASA's mission.

Steve Ormsby and Aphrodite Kostakis from the Space Biosciences Division were recognized for their work in facility safety, infrastructure maintenance, and property management.

In Astrophysics, Alejandro Borlaff was honored for pioneering image reduction pipelines for the Hubble and Roman Space Telescopes, enhancing the detection of faint celestial features. Sarah Nickerson received recognition for her work on analyzing and curating data from the EXES instrument on SOFIA, providing valuable data products for the astrophysics community.

Martina Caussi, a NASA Postdoctoral Program Fellow in Planetary Science and Exobiology, was acknowledged for using simulations to study a crater on Europa, providing precursory science for the Europa Clipper mission.

Keiko Nomura from the Earth Science Division was recognized for her leadership and coordination on the NEX-GeoAI project, positioning NASA as a key agency for GeoAI modeling.

Stephen Broccardo, also in Earth Science, received recognition for his initiative and technical leadership in maintaining and advancing Ames' atmospheric remote-sensing capabilities, crucial for satellite validation and science activities.
