NASA Ames Fire Department Aircraft Firefighting Training

The NASA Ames Research Center fire department will conduct aircraft firefighting training at Moffett Federal Airfield from Tuesday, Sept. 8 to Friday, Sept. 11, between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. PDT.

The training will utilize a propane-fueled aircraft fire simulator to prepare first responders for realistic scenarios. While minimal smoke is expected due to the propane fuel, flames may be visible to those on U.S. Highway 101.
