Body-Controlled Game Encourages Physical Activity

A Raspberry Pi-based game called BlobJump uses a belt worn by the player to control an on-screen avatar, encouraging physical activity through gameplay.

The game functions similarly to a popular dinosaur runner game, where the player's jumping and ducking actions directly translate to the avatar's movements.

Each belt is equipped with an ESP32-C3 microcontroller, an MPU-6050 motion sensor, and a rechargeable battery, all operating wirelessly.

The effectiveness of the game in promoting activity and whether players might find ways to bypass physical engagement were not detailed, as no video of children playing was shown.

Beyond encouraging exercise, the project is also seen as a potential tool to engage children in hardware and software development.
