MIT Engineering Faculty and Staff Honored with Spring 2026 Awards

The MIT School of Engineering recognized numerous faculty and staff members in spring 2026 for their significant contributions across various fields of research, technology, and education.

Faez Ahmed received an AFOSR Young Investigator Award. Navid Azizan and Vincent Sitzmann received NSF CAREER Awards. Yet-Ming Chiang was named a Boston Globe Tech Power Player. Samantha Coday received an ARPA-E IGNIITE Award.

Srini Devadas and Joel Emer were honored with ACM-IEEE CS Eckert-Mauchly and ACM SIGARCH/IEEE TCCA Influential Paper Awards. Chuchu Fan received the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society Early Academic Career Award.

Robert Langer received the Robert A. Welch Award in Chemistry. Gareth McKinley was elected to the National Academy of Sciences. Farnaz Niroui received the Rising Star of Microsystems Award.

Tomás Palacios received the Quantum Devices Award. Ritu Raman received a Grainger Foundation Frontiers of Engineering Grant. Lindsey Raymond was named a 2025 Early Career Fellow by Schmidt Sciences AI2050.

Daniela Rus received the High-Tech Prize of the Bavarian Minister-President. Afreen Siddiqi earned a Guggenheim Fellowship. Vincent Sitzmann also received the PAMI Young Researcher Award.

Loza Tadesse was named to Chemical & Engineering News’ 2026 Talented 12. Kripa Varanasi's startup, AgZen, received a UN WIPO Global Award.
