MIT Advances Campus Climate Goals

MIT is making progress on its 2021 campus decarbonization goals, focusing on building efficiency, solar power, and net-zero emissions.

MIT reduced energy use per square foot by over 10% in a decade. Rooftop solar increased fivefold, and 33 buildings achieved LEED certification. The Moghadam Building is MIT's first Zero Carbon Certified building.
