Micro-regeneration Project on Ouyang Road

A district-wide renewal project in Shanghai, led by the Ouyang Road Sub-district Office, aims to revitalize a neighborhood through targeted interventions.

Scenic Architecture Office provided consulting and detailed design for three key micro-renovation nodes within the project. The initiative focused on principles of mending, daily life, and symbiosis.

The project involved reorganizing neighborhood circulation and public spaces. Instead of large-scale demolition, the approach utilized 'acupuncture-like interventions' to repair urban gaps.

The goal is to gradually restore the vitality and human warmth of the area. The project covers an area of 62 m² and is scheduled for completion in 2026.

Key collaborators include Shanghai Municipal Engineering Design Institute (Group) Co., Ltd. for territorial planning and EPC contracting, and Growdesign Co.Ltd. for landscape design.
