Metal Gear Solid Runs on ESP32 Microcontroller
A developer has successfully ported the original Metal Gear Solid game to the ESP32-S3 microcontroller, demonstrating the power of modern hardware.

The project leverages the FoxdieTeam's MGS Reversing decompilation effort, allowing the game to be recompiled for the ESP32's Xtensa cores.
Significant modifications were necessary to adapt the game from the PlayStation's MIPS processor to the microcontroller's architecture.
To create a playable handheld, the ESP32-S3 module was integrated with a drone controller's analog stick, an ILI9341 LCD panel, and a resistor ladder for button inputs.
