LEGO Air-Powered Table Saw Built

A creator has constructed a functional air-powered table saw using LEGO components, incorporating a metal blade and an air turbine.

The project began with a prototype to establish the mechanism, evolving into a table saw with a real metal blade, powered by a 3D-printed air turbine designed to maximize rotational conversion from high-pressure air.

The creator found 3D printing saw blades challenging due to the difficulty in achieving a sharp edge, highlighting the superiority of traditional metal blades.

Safety features include a dead-man switch that cuts the air supply if not held, and an auto-feeding system for guiding material, though the latter proved unreliable.

The final design, utilizing a standard air compressor and non-LEGO parts, resulted in a surprisingly effective table saw.
