Makelab Expands 3D Printing Operations at MADE: Bush Terminal

On-demand 3D printing studio Makelab has secured a new, larger facility at MADE: Bush Terminal in Brooklyn to scale its production capabilities and accommodate tier-one clients.

The 3,840-square-foot facility allows Makelab to handle larger orders, exemplified by a recent pickup by a 53-foot truck for an auto supplier client, which was not possible at their previous location.

Makelab, founded by industrial designers Christina Perla and Manny Mota, positions itself as an expert partner, grounding ambitious CAD concepts in real-world physics and material properties, countering early misconceptions of 3D printing as a simple alternative to traditional production.

The move to MADE: Bush Terminal, a hub for industrial design and urban manufacturing, reinforces Makelab's mission to bridge digital workflows with physical manufacturing literacy.

Makelab aims to influence modern product designers to consider fabrication early in the creative process, bringing more tangibility to design through accessible tools and understanding of manufacturing.
