Dezeen Awards 2026 Master Jury Convenes in London

Leading architects and designers, including Ma Yansong and Daniel Libeskind, met in London to select winners for the Dezeen Awards 2026. The master jury reviewed 392 shortlisted entries from over 4,300 projects globally.

The jury, held at the One Hundred Shoreditch hotel, also featured interior designers Wendy Saunders and Jaime Hayon, among others. They determined the 49 winning projects ahead of shortlist announcements scheduled for September 21-23.

Winners will be revealed at the Dezeen Awards 2026 party on November 16 at the Royal Opera House in London. This event will also announce the six Designers of the Year, selected by Dezeen's editorial team.

Jurors noted a trend towards projects that critically examine context, materiality, technology, and social impact. Some entries were described as "statements of intent" rather than purely stylistic exercises, focusing on strengthening human connection.

Emerging studios were observed experimenting with new materials and approaches, with one juror stating the next generation is "asking better questions, not just creating better answers."

The design categories jury highlighted projects that were not only beautiful but also purposeful, distinct, and challenged the status quo.

Following the judging, a reception and dinner were held, attended by other judges and notable designers. The Dezeen Awards 2026 are in partnership with Trimble.
