DIY Autonomous Mouse Droid with Party Mode

A hobbyist has created a functional replica of the iconic Star Wars mouse droid, featuring autonomous navigation and a unique party mode.

The droid is built on an off-the-shelf metal robot chassis, providing a base for the gearmotors and wheels. The mouse droid body, a 3D printed component, is attached using heat set inserts and nylon standoffs.

Inside the body, an Arduino Uno controls the droid's movement via an L298 motor driver board. Ultrasound sensors are integrated for obstacle avoidance, and LEDs are included for visual effects.

A key feature is the 'party mode' button, which triggers music playback through a DFPlayer Mini module, adding an element of fun to the droid's functionality.

While not as complex as other Star Wars droids, this mouse droid offers an accessible and enjoyable build project that can be replicated affordably.
