La Grieta Pavilion: A Sustainable Academic Exploration

La Grieta Pavilion is an academic and constructive exploration focused on sustainability, material awareness, and the interplay of light, time, and space. It was designed collaboratively by CEDIM students and WEYES Studio.

The project aimed to link design, construction, and environmental awareness through direct interaction with material systems. It served as both a built artifact and a pedagogical exercise.

The pavilion has an area of 26 m² and is slated for completion in 2025. It is categorized as a Temporary Installation and is located in Ciudad Santa Catarina, Mexico.

Key contributors included Vicente Tapia and Djordje Stanojevic as coordinators, Héctor Pineda for academic support, and Jorge Jiménez for construction. Numerous students from CEDIM were involved in the project.

The project received support and sponsorship from companies such as Andamios Monterrey, Habiteo, and PROMMAT, who provided products used in its construction.
