Kinetic Lenses Transform Balinese Landscape

Vincent Leroy's "Eccentric Lenses" sculpture in Bali uses Fresnel lenses to create a dynamic optical field, fragmenting and reframing the surrounding environment.

The kinetic sculpture is a constellation of Fresnel lenses that respond to the wind, continuously altering the perception of Bali's landscape. Each lens rotates eccentrically, creating a slow drift rather than a mechanical spin.

Activated by the wind, the mobile's configuration is never static. As the lenses move, the mountains, rice fields, trees, and sky viewed through them are inverted, fragmented, and brought into new proximities.
