DIY Fan-Assisted Backpack Cooler
A maker has developed a fan-assisted back protector to keep wearers cool when carrying a backpack during hot weather.

The device features an open framework that creates a space between the wearer and the backpack, allowing for air circulation. Two 5-volt fans are integrated at the top to actively blow air through this space.
The prototype is constructed from PETG, chosen for its higher softening temperature compared to PLA, which can be important on very hot days.
The initial prototype was notably made from a pizza box, showcasing resourcefulness. Previous attempts at cooling backpacks have included Peltier systems and evaporative coolers, though links to these older projects are unavailable.
