New York Cocktail Lounge Features USM Modular Shelving
Restaurateur Josh Greenspan has designed VV's Cocktail Room in Manhattan, a 18-seat bar utilizing Steel Blue USM Haller modular shelving for its walls and bar area, inspired by visits to Japan and Hong Kong.

The intimate space, named after Greenspan's daughter Vivienne, aims to replicate the experience of an omakase cocktail service. Greenspan collaborated with USM, a company known for its flexible panelling system, to create an interior where the USM Haller System serves as the primary architectural framework.
Navy blue USM panels form the surrounding walls and extend into shelving behind the bar. Dark walnut wood is used for the bar top and tables, complemented by burgundy upholstered bar seats and banquette seating. A wavy pendant light by Studio Kawabi and a painting by Keita Morimoto add to the decor.
The design draws inspiration from the "futuristic aesthetic" of Tokyo and Hong Kong between the 1960s and 1990s. The USM system's versatility is highlighted, moving beyond furniture to define the spatial design.
The cocktail program is led by James Beard Award-winning bartender Neal Bodenheimer, with a bar snack menu created by Dorie Greenspan. This project showcases USM panels used architecturally, similar to past retail installations for Coperni.
