Tiny Internet Radio Built with ESP32-C3

A new internet radio project showcases how small these devices can be made using modern microcontrollers.

The hardware consists of an ESP32-C3 microcontroller on a small development board, paired with a custom PCB featuring a PCM5102A I2S DAC and an amplifier. The entire assembly is remarkably compact.

While the practicality of listening on such a small device is yet to be determined, its size is a notable achievement. Further miniaturization might involve removing connectors or utilizing the ESP32's built-in, though less audio-focused, DAC.
