Using a laptop, he followed software instructions to fix a tractor by reconnecting an unplugged sensor, a demonstration criticized as overly simplistic for a subscription service costing $195 annually per machine.
Critics found the unplugged sensor issue to be a minor problem, unlikely to represent typical harvest-time tractor issues. While Deere may have avoided more complex repairs for a media demonstration, the chosen example was seen as unconvincing for encouraging customer use of their repair service, which reportedly has about a thousand daily users.
