Grimshaw Designs Elevated Plaza with Boring Company Station for Las Vegas Stadium

Architecture studio Grimshaw has unveiled plans for a new elevated plaza at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, aiming to transform underutilized parking areas into a vibrant public space and transportation hub.

The proposed North Plaza would replace existing service parking lots with a raised platform designed to meet the existing road level and slope towards the current parking areas. This platform will offer extensive gathering spaces and be partially covered by a translucent canopy.

Beneath the canopy, a car lane will connect to Dean Martin Drive. A key feature of the design is the integration of an underground station for Elon Musk's Boring Company, similar to the one at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

This station would become part of the Las Vegas Loop system, which is still largely under construction, with only a small portion of the approved tunnel network completed.

The Boring Company utilizes Tesla electric cars for transport within its tunnel systems.

The plaza design includes a grand staircase leading to the platform and a primary causeway underneath to connect stadium entrances with remaining parking.

At one end of the platform, a circular structure covered with solar panels is envisioned as a potential placeholder for an outdoor venue or shade structure.

The project aims to enhance the stadium's entryway and create a fan gathering area, with rideshare pickup planned underneath the platform.
