Fritz Hansen Sound Club: Music and Design in Bauhaus-Inspired Spaces

Danish design brand Fritz Hansen, in collaboration with audio specialist Technics, has created the Fritz Hansen Sound Club at its Farringdon showroom for the London Design Festival. The installation features curated vinyl listening experiences within distinct domestic settings.

The showroom is divided into four domestic scenes, combining Fritz Hansen's furniture and lighting with Technics' turntables, headphones, and speakers. A limited edition burgundy Kaiser Idell Luxus lamp and Technics SL-40CBT turntable are central to these settings.

The interior styling draws inspiration from the Bauhaus movement, blending 1930s furniture with contemporary Fritz Hansen pieces to evoke modernist origins.

Originally debuted in Copenhagen, the Sound Club aims to explore how sound influences the experience of interior spaces. Fritz Hansen's creative director noted that sound directly shapes movement, pauses, and interactions with furniture and materials.

Specific areas include a Study with steel-framed desks and Arne Jacobsen's Ant Chairs, and a Reading Corner featuring the iconic Egg Chair.

The Living Room is designed for socializing, with a turntable and speakers arranged for guests, complemented by Poul Kjærholm's PK31 sofa and PK80 daybed.

The exhibition also showcases other Fritz Hansen furniture, including pieces by Cecilie Manz and Nendo, alongside a new compact Kaiser Idell lamp and an upholstered N02 Recycle chair.

Fritz Hansen Sound Club is open to the public until September 20th at 78 Cowcross Street as part of the London Design Festival.
