Four-Level Platform Serves as Collective Throne on Othoni

Dimitris Kontodimos' "West/End" is a four-level white platform on Othoni, Greece, designed as a collective seating and viewing structure.

Developed during Ionian Lab 2026, the 2.5 x 2.5 x 1.25 meter installation is built from MDF panels and faces the western horizon.

It expands on Othoni's name, Othronos ('throne'), into a communal space rather than a singular authority symbol.

The structure invites visitors to climb, sit, and face the sea, turning an undeveloped point into a temporary site for collective observation.

Kontodimos connects the work to Othoni's migration history, interpreting the horizon as a symbol of departure and hope.

The subtitle, "For those who made it this far," refers to both reaching a destination and achieving success there.
