Greece's First LEED Platinum Single-Family Home

Boomerang Athens, a 425-square-meter residence, is the first single-family home in Greece to achieve LEED Platinum certification under the v4.1 BD+C standard.

Designed by Greek studio ECLÉDE, the climate-responsive urban home integrates architecture, engineering, smart automation, and material restraint. A vertical screen controls solar exposure and privacy, complemented by integrated planting and ground-level solar panels.

The four-level residence functions as a vertical landscape, featuring en-suite bedrooms, open-plan living areas, a private elevator, terraces, and a rooftop pool. Interior design emphasizes tactile materials like marble, stone, and timber, with expansive triple-glazed openings.

An advanced thermal envelope, heat pumps, underfloor heating, smart ventilation, and a KNX automation system manage lighting, shading, and climate. Low-emission materials and acoustic dampening enhance indoor air quality.

The project, led by founder Vassilis Siafaricas, has received multiple international design awards, including the German Design Award 2026. Siafaricas was also recognized on Architizer’s Visionary 100 list.

Boomerang Athens demonstrates a contemporary vision for Greek residential architecture, emphasizing durability, environmental accountability, and functional precision through a synthesis of engineering and craft.
