EPFL Celebrates 1,565 Master's Graduates
EPFL held its traditional Master's graduation ceremony on October 3rd, awarding 1,565 diplomas. The event honored graduates' achievements and featured addresses from university leadership and distinguished guests.

EPFL President Anna Fontcuberta i Morral encouraged graduates to view their degrees as a "map" and their personal qualities as a "compass" for navigating future challenges. Nicolas Cudré-Mauroux, CTO at Sicpa and EPFL alumnus, emphasized the importance of interdependence for achieving significant advancements.
The ceremony recognized outstanding achievements with several awards. Three individuals were granted the title of Doctor honoris causa: skier Marco Odermatt, Tsu-Jae King Liu (President of the National Academy of Engineering), and Juan Carlos de la Llera Martin (Rector of the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile).
Six graduates were honored for their academic excellence. Awards were also presented for Best Teaching to Clément Pit-Claudel, and AGEPoly distributed Polysphère awards. EPFL Alumni recognized Michèle Reigner, Patrick Hertzog, and Pedro Bados.
The Outstanding Commitment Award celebrated two EPFL employees: doctoral student Philippine Milward for her advocacy and Pierre Wets for his dedication to making complex physics concepts accessible through experiments.
Following the main ceremony, graduates participated in smaller group celebrations and photo sessions within their respective departments.
