Medium Format Camera Digitized with Open-Source Back

An open-source digital back has been developed for the Mamiya Super 23 medium format camera, replacing the film plane with a digital sensor.

The project utilizes a 22-megapixel Kodak KAF-22000CE CCD, measuring 38.8 mm by 50 mm, which is close in size to the original 120 film format the camera was designed for.

The digital back is controlled by a Xilinx Zynq 7010 System-on-Chip, leveraging both its Cortex-A9 cores and FPGA for processing.

The creator has prior experience with FPGAs, including work on an e-ink monitor and a previous mirror-less digital camera project.
