Dezeen Awards 2026 Architecture Shortlist Announced

Dezeen has revealed the architecture shortlist for the 2026 Dezeen Awards, featuring 152 projects from 36 countries. The selected works will compete across 19 categories.

The shortlist includes diverse projects such as a rammed earth house in the UK, glass-walled guesthouses in Ukraine, and a mosque with a perforated stone roof in Qatar. Other notable entries include an office inspired by Japanese machiya housing and a stepped-well-inspired university building in India.

The projects were evaluated by a jury of renowned architects, including Annabelle Selldorf, Daniel Libeskind, Ma Yansong, Amanda Levete, and Norman Foster.

Winners in each category will be announced at the Dezeen Awards 2026 party on November 16th at the Royal Opera House in London. One overall winner will be crowned architecture project of the year.

The awards, in partnership with Trimble, celebrate architectural and design excellence globally. Trimble provides technology solutions to support designers in shaping spaces and buildings.

The shortlist spans various categories, including urban and rural housing, renovations, civic and cultural projects, workplaces, leisure and wellness, education, heritage, hospitality, infrastructure, small projects, mixed-use developments, landscape and urban design, sustainable building, and sustainable renovation.

Examples from specific categories include the Al-Mujadilah Center and Mosque for Women in Qatar (Cultural project), Prestige University in India (Education project), and Pier Pavilion in Sydney (Sustainable building).
