Alfa Romeo Design Inspires Taipei Café

Caffè Fortuna, an Italian-themed café in Taipei, draws its design inspiration from the Alfa Romeo Quadrifoglio, the automobile manufacturer's iconic four-leaf clover symbol.

RLWW Studio translated the Quadrifoglio into a geometric language for the café's interior and facade. The design incorporates deep green and rich wood tones, accented with stone and iron, evoking mid-century Milanese Modernism.

The Quadrifoglio motif is deconstructed into geometric forms and beveled profiles, appearing on elements like door handles, custom woodwork, and patterned tiles.

Dark wood cladding integrates existing window frames, with six geometric apertures allowing natural light while controlling street views. These recessed voids on the facade echo volumes carved into the interior walls.

The design also incorporates the existing corner traffic signal into the café's material and spatial composition, linking the Taipei location with its Italian references through a cohesive architectural language.
