Cultural Center in Gisors by richter architectes et associés

A new cultural center in Gisors, France, designed by richter architectes et associés, is set to be completed in 2026. The project aims to transform a neglected urban site.

The cultural center, with a total area of 2676 m², includes a cinema (1444 m²) and a media library (1232 m²). The project also encompasses 8000 m² of public spaces and has a budget of 10M€ ex.VAT.

The site, previously a car park, was characterized by industrial infrastructure, underground water, and pollution, making it an urban and landscape challenge.

Instead of ignoring these constraints, the architects chose to integrate them into the design, aiming to create a new urban landscape.

Key collaborators include C&E Ingénierie (Structural Engineering), BET G.Jost (Electrical engineering, Fire Safety), Gamba (Acoustics), SOLARES BAUEN (Fluides, HEQ), C2Bi (Economist), and BRUNO KUBLER (Landscaper).
